Hawkstream Radio is an internet based radio station led by students at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington that provides music entertainment and academic programs to a broad range of listeners across the nation.
MEET THE TEAM
Matthew Heiniger
Station Manager
Matthew Heiniger manages all aspects of Hawkstream Radio. He is in charge of approving new members of staff and being the representative with the Student Media Board. All aspects of the station need to be discussed and approved with the station manager. The manager must also make sure that the station is in agreement with FCC guidelines in order to stay budgeted by UNC- Wilmington.
Michael Miller
Audio Engineer
Michael Miller is responsible for the technology necessary to put the station's broadcast on the radio. Michael is responsible for all of the recordings and to adjust eqipment as necessary to maintain quality broadcasts, while working to maintain broadcasting capabilities and provide quick solutions to problems that may arise with the transmitter, tower, satellite receiver, and other related equipment.
Dustin Fleischmann
Web Designer
Dustin Fleischmann designs and develops the website for Hawkstream. He creates and manages online content for Hawkstream promotion and is in charge of providing a user friendly experience for listeners. Alongside designing and publishing the website, Dustin maintains the Hawkstream broadcast server and oversees online social media advertising for Hawkstream Radio.
Rachel Arredondo
Programming Director
Rachel Arredondo is the programming coordinator for Hawkstream Radio. She is responsible for managing the programming staff and evaluating broadcast materials for accuracy and quality. Rachel is also in charge of maintaining Hawkstream's extensive music library. Rachel listens to the programming needs of the listening public and creates programs to satisfy the needs of listeners.
